THE FALL!!!!! AND I DON'T MEAN THE SEASON!!!

The middle of August, in the middle of the night, I tripped over the dogs bed and fell on my knee. I ruptured my Bursa. I am now able to work around the house and do yard work. If it starts to hurt I am supposed to take it easy. I was able to use the treadmill today. So I think I am most assuridly on the mend.

THE NEW LOOK IN THE LIVING ROOM!!!!

After we finished the floor we decided to move the leather furniture upstairs. I went outside the box for me and painted the living room dk teal. I painted the burgandy wall tan to match the rest of the upstairs.

I found some old windows at a yard sale. I made quilt squares to fit the windows and hung it on the wall. I am working on another quilt with teals and greens and will look well in living area. I made new curtains also. I really love what I did.

The New Tile Floor!!!!

Remember the pictures of the mess in our house? I know I remember it well. You can look at the old pictures to remind you. The floor was finally finished in June. I love it very much.

Gracie

Last February we decided to get a dog. Her name is Gracie. She is a Brazillian Mastif. When we got her she was 3 1/2  months old and 17 pounds. The vet says she was about 20 pounds underweight. So we told to free feed. She is almost 10 months old and close to 90 pounds. We all enjoy her very much. She been in 2 obiedient classes and is sighned up for another one. She needs to be socialized. Andrea takes her to the dog park. Gracie loves the interaction. She loves our camping trailer. She knows we are going camping when we park it out front. She gets really excited. I enjoy walking her. She learns fast. She is also a little protective of our house. She tends to bark at people. She is doing better thanks to the books I have read in the last couple of months.

This was the summer of the flower. I love the color that Petunias are now adays. We didn't do as well with the vegatable garden. We had already planted the backyard veggie garden when we decided we did not have the time for the big garden up the road. We were not as organized in the back yard veggie garden thinking the main growing wood be up the road. We have lots of carrots here. We had a few peas. We know that next year will probably be worse than this year for time so we will plant here a little better.

THE SPRING PROJECT!

We moved everything from the pantrys and kitchen into the living room. We have decided to get rid of the 3 different floors in the entry way , dining room, kitchen and laundry room. We chose a beautiful Italian tile and decided to make everything match.
First we had to tear out all the old floors. Oh how fun. Oh how messy.
Oh how DUSTY!!!!! It took Eric and I about 6 days to get rid of everything out. Then our contractor got ill. It took him 4 weeks to get started.

Keeping up with the dust in this house has been something to behold. After we are done I am going to hire someone to vaccum out the air ducts. We are now 2/3rds done with the tile. I will have pictures at another time. We have our laundry room back. Oh my word, not to have a washer and dryer for almost a month has not been that fun. We have our kitchen back also.  Saturday I was able to get most of the stuff out of my livingroom and put it back where it belongs. The only thing we have left is the dining room. We also decided to move our family room furniture upstairs to the living room and the living room furniture downstairs to the family room. We quite like the decision. I have ordered new fabric for the living room drapes and will be painting the living room soon. I love being busy. The weather is getting better so it is now time to plant the garden.

WINTER WAS VERY BUSY!

The tiles in my Mother's bathroom started to become loose. I decided on a Thursday that her bathroom needed to be redone.
Thursday afternoon Andrea and I ripped up the floor and tore everything out.
It was so dusty that is set off the fire alarm twice. The alarm is hooked into the firestation so they were about to send a fire truck to us. They called and I told them I was doing destruction in our bathroom.
After I put on the cement board we put on a rubber substance. Mom can now flood the bathroom without the floor and basement below getting ruined.
I started to tile Saturday morning. I used the fast setting mud and was able to grout that night.
We were able to get the bathroom in usable condition that weekend. I needed just to get the toilet in. Mom was totally confused so I had to hurry.
Through out the week I worked on the bathroom till it was finished. I put beadboard around the walls and bought some fabric for the shower curtain. I liked how everything turned out.

ANOTHER WINTER PROJECT!

We decided to change the floors so I thought the tile on the fireplace should match the new tile on the floors.
So one morning I decided to tear the fireplace apart. It was really alot of fun. Eric than put the cement board up and I tiled the fireplace. I had glass tiles left over from the remake of my mothers bathroom and the girls bathroom down stairs. So I decided to fancy it up. I really love the way it turned out.
I love love love it. The field tile is the same that we are putting on the floors except they will be 18 by 18 tiles. That is a project we are still working on.The floors should be done in another week.

OUR NEW MEMBER OF THE FAMILY!

We bought Gracie in March. She weighed 17 lbs. She was 3 1/2 months old. She under weight by about 10 pounds. Other than that she was in  good health. Her social skills were horrible. She was afraid of her own shadow. She is a Brazilian Mastif. She will be about 100 pounds when she is through growing.
The vet put her on free feed until she could catch up on her weight. She has been gaining about 5 pounds a week. The doctor is happy with her weight.
Her favorite place to sleep is the cats bed. This picture was taken about a month after we got her. Believe it or not it still her favorite place to sleep and she weighs 55-60 pounds and is 6 months old.
She is in obedience school to help with her social skills. She is really a great dog and very smart. She has learned to play with other dogs and she is not as afraid of people.
Aren't her paws cute? Gracie loves to go on walks and play with her toys. I am going to take her camping this week. I do hope she likes the trailer.

The Winter Projects.

We  put French doors upstairs also. We got rid of the burgandy paint and awful wallpaper. It makes the dining room look a whole lot bigger.

THINGS THAT KEPT US BUSY THIS WINTER!

Our winter was not very snowy and not extremely cold. We decided to get rid of the sliders and put in French doors. This the down stairs door. Love it.
